Noovoleum collects 100+ tons of used cooking oil with field operations from Dash.

Noovoleum is on a mission to transform one of Indonesia’s biggest environmental challenges into a clean energy opportunity. Indonesia produces hundreds of thousands of tons of used cooking oil every year, but much of it is still dumped, burned, or handled through informal channels. Noovoleum built a better system: smart used cooking oil collection points, app-based tracking, and community incentives that make recycling easier for households, businesses, and local communities. But building the technology was only half the challenge.

To make the model work in the real world, Noovoleum needed more than a courier service. It needed an operating layer that could collect used cooking oil, operate deposit machines, clean those machines, troubleshoot issues in the field, and connect every physical pickup back into Noovoleum’s app workflow. Generic logistics providers could not support that level of operational complexity.

Dash helped Noovoleum turn its recycling network into a scalable field operation. Through a custom delivery API integrated into Noovoleum’s app, Dash enables real-time pickup triggering, QR-based customer tracking, and secure jerry can matching. Through Dash field agents, Noovoleum can also operate and maintain its physical collection network across cities.

With Dash, Noovoleum has collected more than 30 tons of used cooking oil in six months, expanded into five cities, and replaced much of its day-to-day operations workload with a managed field operations layer.

Supporting a collection model that standard couriers cannot run

Noovoleum’s work is not a standard delivery flow. Used cooking oil collection requires riders to handle heavy liquid containers, pour oil safely into deposit machines, scan or match customer-specific identifiers, and ensure that each contribution is credited to the right user. It also requires agents to understand the machine workflow, follow strict SOPs, and complete each task with precision.

This is very different from picking up a parcel and dropping it off at a destination. On-demand courier platforms are designed for standardized logistics. They are not built to train riders on machine operation, enforce custom SOPs, handle messy or unfamiliar items, or integrate with a client’s app logic. For Noovoleum, that created operational risk.

A rejected pickup meant oil stayed uncollected. A wrong jerry can match meant the wrong customer could be credited. A machine issue could stop collection at a site. A dirty or unmaintained deposit point could reduce trust in the recycling experience. Noovoleum needed trained field operators, not generic couriers.

Integrating Dash into Noovoleum’s app workflow

Noovoleum’s system depends on accurate tracking. Each pickup needs to connect the physical world to the digital product: which user submitted the oil, which jerry can was collected, which machine was used, and whether the customer should receive credit.

Dash supports this through a custom delivery API integrated into Noovoleum’s app workflow. Pickup requests can be triggered directly from Noovoleum’s system, while Dash agents execute the field task and help complete the operational loop.

This allows Noovoleum to connect real-world collection activity with digital customer tracking. Dash does not simply move containers. Dash helps make Noovoleum’s product work in the field.

Running the field operations behind the machine network

Noovoleum’s smart deposit machines are a key part of the recycling experience. But once machines are deployed in the field, they create a new operating requirement.

They need to be cleaned. They need to be checked. When a machine is off, blocked, dirty, full, or not functioning properly, someone needs to visit the site and resolve the issue quickly.

Dash supports this layer through field operations agents who handle more than collection. Dash agents help clean UCO deposit machines, perform basic troubleshooting, and respond when machines require field attention.

This gives Noovoleum a distributed operations team without having to build a large internal field department in every city.

Instead of hiring, training, scheduling, and managing local operations staff city by city, Noovoleum can rely on Dash to run much of the day-to-day field execution behind its network.

Custom SOPs for safe and consistent execution

Used cooking oil is heavy, liquid, and operationally sensitive. The work requires care. Dash trains and manages agents to follow Noovoleum’s custom SOPs across collection, pouring, machine operation, cleaning, and issue handling. These SOPs ensure that every pickup is executed safely and consistently, regardless of location.

This consistency matters because Noovoleum’s business depends on trust. Users need to know their used cooking oil will be collected. Customers need to be credited accurately. Deposit machines need to remain clean and usable. Collection points need to stay operational. Dash helps Noovoleum maintain that standard across cities.

Replacing operational complexity with a managed field layer

Before Dash, scaling Noovoleum’s network would have required building a large operations organization: local coordinators, field staff, courier management, machine cleaners, troubleshooting teams, and escalation processes. Dash replaces much of that complexity with one managed operating layer.

Dash provides the workforce, training, scheduling, field execution, issue handling, and app-connected delivery workflow. Noovoleum gets the outcome it needs — reliable collection, machine uptime support, customer tracking, and field execution — without carrying the full operational burden internally.

This lets Noovoleum focus on expanding its recycling network, building partnerships, growing user adoption, and turning used cooking oil into a clean energy resource.

Scaling circular economy infrastructure across cities

In just six months, Noovoleum expanded Dash-supported operations across Jakarta, Tangerang, Bekasi, Bandung, and Bali.

That growth required more than adding riders. It required repeatable field execution: the same collection SOPs, the same customer tracking logic, the same machine cleaning process, and the same troubleshooting support across different cities.

Dash provided the operating layer behind that expansion. Noovoleum built the circular economy platform. Dash helps run the physical operations that make it work.

Dash has been instrumental in providing a tailored logistics solution for noovoleum, enabling customized pickup services for both B2B and B2C at scale. They’ve become an integral part of our journey to grow used cooking oil recycling across Indonesia.
